Getting Started
How do I add my first link?
After signing up, go to your Dashboard and click "Add Link". Paste your URL, optionally assign it to a group, and click Save. We'll start monitoring it immediately.
Can I import links in bulk?
Yes! Go to Dashboard → Import and upload a CSV file with one URL per line. We support up to 1,000 links per import. You can also paste multiple links directly.
What links can I monitor?
Any HTTP/HTTPS URL works out of the box - blog posts, documentation, affiliate links, landing pages, and more. We also detect deleted YouTube videos, pages that look broken even when servers say "OK" (soft-404s), and cloud storage links from MEGA, Google Drive, Dropbox, and more.
Can I monitor blog posts, affiliate links, or e-commerce pages?
Absolutely! DeadLinkRadar works with any URL. Whether you're monitoring affiliate links, product pages, blog posts, or landing pages - if it has a URL, we can check it.
How do I set up notifications?
Go to Dashboard → Settings → Notifications. You can enable Email, Discord webhooks, Slack webhooks, Telegram bot notifications, ntfy.sh push notifications, or custom webhooks. Test your configuration with the "Send Test" button.
How do I set up Telegram notifications?
To set up Telegram notifications: 1) Message @BotFather on Telegram and create a new bot using /newbot. 2) Copy the bot token you receive. 3) Start a chat with your new bot and send any message. 4) Get your Chat ID by visiting https://api.telegram.org/bot<YOUR_TOKEN>/getUpdates. 5) Enter both the bot token and chat ID in Dashboard → Settings → Notifications → Telegram.
How do I set up ntfy.sh notifications?
ntfy.sh is a free push notification service. To set up: 1) Download the ntfy app (iOS/Android/Web) or use the web interface at https://ntfy.sh. 2) Subscribe to a topic (choose any name like "deadlinkradar-alerts"). 3) Go to Dashboard → Settings → Notifications → ntfy.sh and paste your topic URL (e.g., https://ntfy.sh/deadlinkradar-alerts). 4) Click "Test" to verify. No account required for public topics. You can also self-host ntfy on your own server.
What's "smart detection"?
Our AI analyzes page content to catch problems other tools miss: pages that return 200 OK but say "Not Found" (soft-404s), deleted videos, and expired content. Each link gets a confidence score (0-100) so you know exactly which links need attention. This means fewer false positives and smarter prioritization.
Can I monitor multiple websites?
Yes! All plans support unlimited domains. Link limits are total across all sites. Perfect for agencies managing multiple client websites or bloggers with several niche sites.
Link Monitoring
How does DeadLinkRadar check links without downloading files?
We use HEAD requests and service-specific APIs to verify link status without downloading any content. This makes checks fast, efficient, and completely legal.
What happens when a link goes dead?
You'll receive instant alerts via your configured channels (email, Slack, Discord, Telegram, webhook, or ntfy.sh). The dashboard shows exactly which link failed, when it was last alive, and the specific error.
How often are links checked?
Depends on your plan: Free (weekly), Starter (daily), Pro (every 6 hours), Business (hourly priority). You can also trigger manual checks anytime from the dashboard.
Can I monitor password-protected links?
Yes! For supported services, you can securely store credentials in your account. We'll automatically authenticate and verify protected links during each check.
What does each link status mean?
Green (Alive): Link is working. Red (Dead): Link returns an error or is removed. Yellow (Unknown): Temporary issue or rate-limited. Gray (Pending): Waiting for first check.
Why does my link show as "Unknown"?
This usually means the hosting service temporarily blocked our check (rate limiting) or returned an ambiguous response. Wait for the next check cycle, or try a manual check.
Why is my link check slow?
Some services like TakeFile and ExLoad use Cloudflare protection, which requires additional processing. These checks may take 30-60 seconds instead of being instant. Links from protected sites show a shield badge in the dashboard to indicate this.
How accurate are your link checks?
Our checks have a 99.8% accuracy rate. We use service-specific APIs and smart retry logic to minimize false positives. If a link shows as dead incorrectly, you can trigger a manual recheck or contact support for investigation.
Do you have false positives?
Rarely. Some hosting services use aggressive anti-bot measures that can cause temporary false positives. We automatically retry failed checks and use service-specific detection to minimize this. Unknown status usually resolves within 24 hours.
Account & Billing
Can I upgrade or downgrade anytime?
Absolutely! Change your plan anytime from your dashboard. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades apply at your next billing cycle. You'll never lose your data.
Can I start for free?
Yes! Start with our Free plan (50 links, weekly checks) with no credit card required. Upgrade to Starter ($9/month), Pro ($19/month), or Business ($49/month) anytime when you need more links or faster checks.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through our secure payment partner Stripe. Annual plans are available at a 20% discount.
What happens if I exceed my link limit?
We'll notify you when you're approaching your limit. You can upgrade anytime to add more links, or remove links you no longer need to stay within your plan.
What's your refund policy?
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans. If you're not satisfied for any reason, contact us for a full refund. No questions asked.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Go to Dashboard → Settings → Billing and click "Cancel Subscription". Your links will continue to be monitored until the end of your billing period. You can reactivate anytime.
Do you offer annual discounts?
Yes! Pay annually and save 20% (2 months free). Starter annual is $86/year, Pro annual is $182/year, Business annual is $470/year.
How does billing work?
We charge at the start of each billing cycle (monthly or annual). Upgrades are prorated. Downgrades take effect at the next cycle. All payments are processed securely through Stripe. You receive email receipts for every charge.
Will I be charged automatically?
Yes, subscriptions renew automatically. You'll receive an email reminder 3 days before renewal. You can cancel anytime from Dashboard → Settings → Billing to stop future charges.
Do you offer a money-back guarantee?
Yes! All paid plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you're not satisfied for any reason, contact support@deadlinkradar.com for a full refund. No questions asked.
Privacy & Security
Do you store my files?
No. We only verify link availability. Your files stay on their original hosting service. We never download or store any content.
Is my data secure?
Yes. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS 1.3) for all data in transit. Passwords are encrypted at rest. We never share your data with third parties.
Can I delete my account and all data?
Yes. Go to Dashboard → Settings → Account and click "Delete Account". This permanently removes all your data, links, and history. This action cannot be undone.
Do you log which links I monitor?
We store link URLs and check history to provide the service. This data is private to your account. We do not analyze, share, or monetize your link data.
Is link checking legal?
Yes. We only verify if links are accessible using standard HTTP HEAD requests - the same method your browser uses. We never download, store, or access file contents. This is no different from clicking a link yourself.
Are you GDPR compliant?
Yes. We collect only necessary data (email, links you add), encrypt all data in transit and at rest, and allow full data deletion on request. We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
Where is my data stored?
Your data is stored on secure servers in the United States with industry-standard encryption. Backups are encrypted and stored separately. You can request a full data export or deletion anytime.
Troubleshooting
I'm not receiving email notifications
Check your spam/junk folder first. Then verify your email is correct in Settings → Notifications. Try sending a test email. If issues persist, add noreply@deadlinkradar.com to your contacts.
My Discord/Slack webhook is not working
Verify the webhook URL is correct and the channel still exists. In Discord, check if the webhook was deleted. Use the "Send Test" button to debug. Make sure the webhook URL starts with https://.
My Telegram notifications are not working
Common issues: 1) Make sure you started a conversation with your bot (send it any message first). 2) Verify the bot token is correct and starts with a number. 3) Check that the Chat ID is correct (should be a number, negative for groups). 4) Ensure your bot has not been blocked. Use the "Send Test" button to verify your configuration.
A link shows as dead but it works when I click it
Some hosting services have anti-bot measures that block our checks. Try adding credentials if the service supports it, or contact support with the specific link for investigation.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
